WHY ARE THE BLUE AND BLACK WIRES REVERSED ON THE 118266 HARNESS?

VEHICLES:
05-13 Nissan Frontier
05-12 Nissan Pathfinder
05-13 Nissan Xterra
09-13 Suzuki Equator

For undetermined reasons, some Nissan and Suzuki vehicles with factory tow package wiring have been found with the Electric Brake and Battery Charge wires reversed in the vehicle’s main harness. This issue has been found on a very limited basis, but includes all models that use the 118266 and 118267 harnesses. The reversed wiring will cause the trailer’s Electric Brakes to lock as soon as the trailer is plugged into the vehicle’s 7-way and the vehicle’s ignition is in the Run position. If this occurs, disconnect the trailer’s plug and the Electric Brake Control from the vehicle. Next, verify the vehicle’s 7-way functions, specifically the Battery Charge (pin 4), and the Electric Brake (pin 2) pins with a test light or voltmeter to ensure the functions are correct. Please contact our team for instructions on how to test and how to repair the harness.
