I purchased a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 with short bed. It is factory prepped for a fifth wheel already. My question is this: what else do I need?

Dodge says all I need is the hitch itself, but when researching online it says I also need a mounting bracket that goes in the bed. I thought that was already installed under the bed?

Since you have the short bed, we recommend the slider fifth wheel hitch. We have a few options available for you in different capacities, but I will quote the 16K and 20K options. You do need the adapter kit that goes in the bed to adapt the prep package to an aftermarket fifth wheel hitch such as Reese or Curt.
