ROADMASTER BASEPLATE MOUNTING BRACKETS STYLES
Roadmaster baseplates (brackets) are installed on your vehicle's frame to provide attachment points for your Roadmaster Tow Bar. Every Roadmaster baseplate mounting bracket is custom-made to fit a specific vehicle or range of vehicles. These Baseplates attach at logical points along the frame or undercarriage for maximum strength and a quick, easy installation. Roadmaster Baseplates come in different styles; XL, MX, EZ and MS and are all 'hidden'. Each bracket type is described in the features of that Baseplate.
Roadmaster Classic "Standard" Baseplate Brackets
These Roadmaster brackets are your classic standard designs mostly made for older vehicles. Don't let the look foof you, they are still very effective and reliable.
- Fixed drawbar arms - not removable
- Pieces of metal permanently visible on the front of the dinghy
- Work with all types of Roadmaster tow bars
- Require crossbars for the tow bar
- Quick disconnet compatible
Roadmaster XL Series 'Hidden' Baseplate Brackets
The visible portion of the brackets, the "front arms" can be easily removed when not towing - remove two hitch pins to convert from towed car to road car in seconds.
- Available for cars, SUV's and trucks
- Removable drawbar arms
- Invisible frame brackets, once drawbar are removed
- Square drawbar arms held in place with hitch pin and clip
- Fat end of arm is bolted to tow bar crossbar or attached to quick disconnets
- Work with all types of Roadmaster Tow Bars
- Require crossbar on tow bar
- Crossbar provides additional strength to towing setups and is also the link between tow bar arms and drawbar arms
- Quick disconnet compatible
Roadmaster MX Series Baseplate 'Hidden' Brackets
The visible portion of the brackets, the "front arms" can be easily removed when not towing - remove two hitch pins to convert from towed car to road car in seconds.
- Designed for vehicle's with heavy duty frames (trucks and SUV's)
- Removable drawbar arms
- Arms of baseplates attach directly to the telescoping tow bar arms
- Most install through the grille - no scraping brackets in dips or against curbs
- Does not require crossbar or quick disconnects
- Speeds up hooking up process
- Looks better then standard, XL or EZ baseplate connetion
- The drawbar arm is a two-prong fork that a pin is inserted through to attach the plates to the tow bar arm
- Not compatible with accessories that require quick disconnects

Roadmaster EZ Twistlock Series 'Hidden' Baseplate Brackets
All EZ and EZ2 series brackets are easy to attach and remove - simply insert the visible portion of the brackets (the 'front arms') into the receiver and rotate.
All four EZ Twistlock bracket styles feature:
- Available for cars, SUV's, and trucks
- Brackets can come as single units or as two parts
- Convenient twist-lock, removable drawbar arms
- Do not require pin and clip to lock in place
- Drawbar arms insert into frame brackets and twist 90 degrees to lock
- Invisible brackets when drawbar is not installed
- Requires crossbar
- Crossbar provides additional strength to towing setups and is also the link between tow bar arms an drawbar arms
- Quick-disconnect compatible
- Work with all models of Roadmaster towbars
EZ4 and EZ5 brackets have a clean, uncluttered look, whether you're towing or driving. A spring loaded locking system allows the brackets to be recessed even farther than earlier models. Both locks 'cick' as each of the front arms are rotated into position; pull a ring and twist the front arms 90 degrees to remove them.
Safety cable anchor tabs are located for convenience and easy of use. Since the tabs will accomodate a snap hook, the safety cables can be connected directly to the bracket, eliminating the short racket safety cables entirely. These brackets also have a convenient, built-in mounting point for the electrical socket
